Mobile Power Quality Measurements will be carried out in the first stages of this project by using four test vehicles. Four real and one substitute Data Collection Systems, and other equipment and accessories required in the field will be available in each test vehicle. In each test vehicle, there will be at least two researchers and at most two technicians, one of whom is TEIAS researcher and the other is TUBITAK-BILTEN and/or University Researcher. In the field that measurement took place, it has been planned that technical staff of TEIAS responsible Group Management should participate actively. The main goal of Mobile Power Quality Measurements is to take a picture of theTurkish Electricity Transmission System in terms of Power Quality and Reactive Power Flows, |
and if there is any problem, to identify those problematic parts and points. The critical points identified with this method will be the points on which National Power Quality Monitors will be set up primarily and permanently. Measurements to be made in each point will last continuously for at least seven days according to IEC 61000-4-30 Std. and in this way; the data concerning weekday/weekend, day/night, and peak times will be collected. This measurement system will be used in the course of time for obtaining changes of the electrical power quality magnitude such as active and reactive power flows, voltage and current magnitudes, and harmonics. In the case that an event occurs during the seven-day period of the measurement, even this process will be recorded in a detailed way.

Mobile Power Quality Measurements will provide four sub-projects with the data below:
- It will illustrate on which points the National Power Quality Monitors developed within this project will be set up primarily.
- STATCOM and MV Active Power Filter Prototypes development sub-project packages have been designed to be research and technology development projects which will go on parallel with the other sub-project packages within the framework of this project. One important design criterion for both prototypes is that they are

general systems, which means to be designed in a way that enables to work without facing any technical problem at any point of the Turkish Electricity Transmission System. Another important point is the necessity for setting the prototypes to the most problematic points since just one prototype will be produced for each of them. The measurements to be made with the Mobile Power Quality Measurement systems will give an important hint for STATCOM and MV Active Power Filter Project Sub-Packages about those two issues.
c. It will provide guiding information about on which points Mobile Power Quality Measurements Transient Measurements and Calibration Works (whose number is limited to 30) will be carried out. The collected raw data and the processed version of them will be classified, recorded via DVD, and kept in the project library for the use during the project.
