The works specified below will be performed within this project: Determination of necessary current and voltage transformers which will enable the items related to Power Quality Parameters defined in IEC 61000-4-30 Std. "Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC); Testing and measurement techniques-Power quality measurement methods" to be read and operated properly in the necessary accuracy category, determining correction factors to be applied to the available conventional transformers, and making design and development of the hardware and software necessary for processing the collected data. The data collected by the National Power Quality Monitors during an event breaking normal operating conditions will be transferred by means of a network infrastructure which will be formed in the National Power Quality Monitoring Center (NPQMC) to be built in TEİAŞ Ankara Facilities. The data collected in the center will be kept in databases and file systems after processing them on time and location basis to consider their distribution in the country. A software will be developed to satisfy this requirement. The data collected and processed in the NPQMC will be evaluated to determine the power quality problems and their points of occurrences in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System. The reasons of these problems will be identified both by means of simulation programs and the extra measurements taken in the field. Implementing a research project for each problem or problem group, the measures will be determined to eliminate the problems. Moreover, technical and economical feasibility works will be carried out so that those measures can be taken by TEİAŞ. For the purpose of improving power quality in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System, two different prototype systems defined below will be designed, developed, and applied to the points selected as the most problematic ones.
